(Washington, DC) -- The Department of Agriculture is recalling nearly nine-million pounds of beef parts processed by a Northern California company. The USDA announced over the weekend that it was issuing the recall for products from the Rancho Feeding Corporation because they came from "diseased and unsound animals" that were not given proper federal inspection. The agency labeled the processed meat "unfit for human consumption." The recall covers eight-point-seven million pounds of various beef parts shipped from the company between January 1st, 2013 and January 7th, 2014.
