(Vista, CA) -- The lead singer for a heavy metal Christian band is going to jail for his role in a murder-for-hire plot. Tim Lambesis was sentenced to six years in prison Friday. The frontman for the band As I Lay Dying pled guilty to trying to hire someone to kill his estranged wife in May of 2013. Lambesis was in a custody battle over his three children when he met and paid an undercover detective to commit the murder. Lambesis had faced up to nine years in prison as part of his plea agreement.
