(Phoenix, AZ) -- Personal beliefs appear to be getting in the way of Arizona kids getting vaccinations. The Arizona Department of Health Services is reporting a rise in children whose parents are claiming the personal beliefs exemption in order to avoid childhood vaccinations. The department claims over the past ten years a greater than three-percent increase in the number of exemptions. Experts say false links to autism along with mistrust of major pharmaceutical companies has most likely led to the decline.
