(Beijing) -- More than 50 people are feared dead in a plane crash in Taiwan. Leo Lewis, Beijing bureau chief for the London "Times," says it was a turbo-prop aircraft that was on a domestic flight.
The TransAsia Airways flight was trying to make an emergency landing in the city of Magong when it crashed. Heavy rain and strong winds were reported in the area in the wake of Typhoon Matmo. A photo of the crash scene shows twisted metal and debris strewn about the area.
London "Times" Beijing Bureau Chief Leo Lewis says there is some bad weather in the area.
