Muslim Convention In Detroit This Weekend
(Detroit, MI) -- There are thousands of Muslims from all over North America in Detroit for a four-day summit at Cobo Center. Syed Mohiuddin has worked to bring the Islamic Society of North America annual convention to Detroit.
The convention kicks off today, and is being held in the Motor City for the first time in ISNA's 32-year history. Michigan Governor Rick Snyder will address the group today, and former President Jimmy Carter will be the keynote speaker. Conservatives have criticized both for agreeing to appear, alleging the group is tied to terrorist organizations. ISNA officials deny those arguments.
