(Washington, DC) -- President Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin are agreeing to keep lines of communication open amid their disagreement over the situation in Ukraine. The White House says Obama and Putin had a phone call today, and Obama voiced his deep concern over Russia's support of Ukrainian rebels. He also pointed out Russia's reported test of a ground-launched cruise missile. According to the Kremlin, Putin told Obama that sanctions against Moscow over the Ukraine situation were counterproductive.
