The white woman who passed herself off as African American for years, has been disinvited from a book festival.

Organizers for the Baltimore Book Festival announced Tuesday they disinvited Rachel Dolezal to this year's event after receiving major public backlash.

Fox News reports festival organizers originally invited Dolezal to the September festival to read her autobiography, but rescinded that invitation after an online petition circulated, calling the invite “racially insensitive.”

Dolezal was formerly the leader of the NAACP chapter in Spokane, Washington while passing herself off as African American.

She was also accused of falsifying multiple reports of hate crimes.
