Most of us know what it feels like to be unnoticed.

We work hard, serve faithfully, care for others, and make sacrifices that often go unseen. In those moments, discouragement can creep in and make us wonder if what we’re doing really matters.

Sophia Bricker points us to the story of the widow’s offering. While wealthy worshipers contributed large amounts, Jesus noticed the widow who quietly gave all she had. Though others may have overlooked her, Jesus saw the depth of her sacrifice and honored her faithfulness.

This story reminds us that God’s perspective is different from ours. He isn’t impressed by public recognition, applause, or outward appearances. Instead, He sees the motives of our hearts and treasures every act done in love and obedience.

Jesus taught His followers not to perform righteous acts for human praise but to serve faithfully, knowing that the Father sees everything done in secret. When we remember this truth, we can stop chasing approval and rest in the confidence that God notices every prayer, every sacrifice, and every act of kindness.

Tonight, if you’re feeling overlooked, remember this: God sees you. And His approval is worth more than any recognition this world can offer.

Father,

Sometimes I feel unseen. I work, serve, give, and love without recognition, and it can be discouraging when others overlook those efforts.

Help me remember that Your eyes never miss a single act of faithfulness. Teach me to seek Your approval above all else and to serve with a heart that desires to honor You rather than impress people.

When I feel forgotten, remind me that I am fully known and deeply loved by You. Strengthen me to continue walking faithfully, trusting that every act done in obedience matters in Your kingdom.

Thank You for seeing what others miss and for delighting in every offering given with a sincere heart.
