John Bolton and publisher deny ‘coordination’ of book manuscript leak

Former National Security Advisor John Bolton and his book publisher are denying they coordinated with journalists to leak a copy of his forthcoming book, which contains an allegation that President Trump confessed to stalling Ukraine aid to force investigation of Joe and Hunter Biden.

But the timing really can’t be ignored.

The New York Post reports the disclosure of that claim in the Bolton book manuscript, The Room Where it Happened, whose details were leaked to the New York Times boosted Democratic hopes to call witnesses in Trump’s impeachment trial.

Bolton’s allegation was published on Sunday before the first full day of Trump’s defense arguments – another timing issue.

Bolton lawyer Charles Cooper blamed the leak on a White House review of the book manuscript.

Lawmakers were divided Monday on the book claim. Many Republican senators said they will wait on making any decisions until a question-and-answer period is completed this week.
