VA Governor Declares ‘State of Emergency’ to Ban Guns on State Capitol Grounds

Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam declared a “state of emergency” Wednesday, putting in place a temporary hold on Second Amendment rights on state Capitol grounds.

Breitbart reports this means people coming to a pro-Second Amendment rally in Richmond on January 20 will have to disarm before taking part in the event.

The upcoming pro-Second Amendment rally, planned by the Virginia Citizens Defense League, has been held every January 20 since 2003 without incident.

But Democrat Northam claimed guns needed to be banned this year. And not only guns but “sticks and bats” too.

Northam alluded to “threats and violent rhetoric” but he did not provide any details.
