IG Report Reveals Steele Funneled Claims Through John McCain After FBI Dropped Him

The Justice Department’s recent Inspector General report revealed the late Senator John McCain gave disgraced former FBI chief James Comey five different reports from Christopher Steele that the FBI didn’t previously possess.

Breitbart reports those documents, part of the Steel dossier, were unsubstantiated allegations of collusion between Russia and President Trump’s 2016 campaign.

There have long been questions about why McCain passed Steele’s anti-Trump dossier to Comey after the presidential election.

By then, Steele had met several times with FBI, but was terminated as an FBI source because he spoke to the news media.

In his book published last year, McCain claimed he had an “obligation” to pass the dossier on to Comey and he would even do it again, saying “Anyone who doesn’t like it can go to hell.”
