There’s outrage as newly released video Monday shows NYPD officers getting doused with water by bystanders as they attempted to make an arrest.

In response to the videos showing officers being soaked with buckets of water and pelted with objects, NYPD officials called the videos “reprehensible.”

Groups of jeering bystanders could also be heard reacting as people continued to splash the officers with water.

The Police Benevolent Association of the City of New York released a statement putting the blame on lawmakers saying the “attacks” were “the end result of the torrent of bad policies and anti-police rhetoric.”
