The “sanctuary city” of San Francisco continues to struggle under a mountain of human waste as Mayor London Breed says the streets of her city are flooded with the excrement of the homeless.

The Daily Caller reports Breed, a Democrat who was just inaugurated as mayor last week, said in an interview Friday she had urged homeless advocacy groups that receive money from the city to teach homeless people to “clean up after themselves.”

Breed said “There is more feces on the sidewalks than I’ve ever seen growing up here,” and called it a huge problem.

TV news reports show the streets of San Francisco littered with drug needles, garbage, and feces.

In a city with one of the highest cost of living rates in the country, there are about 7,500 homeless people.
