According to a survey by the National Federation of Independent Business, optimism among small-business owners reached a record high in August as the country began to see the rewards of Republican-passed tax cuts and deregulation.

National Review reports The NFIB Small Business Optimism Index was the highest it’s been in the index’s 45-year history.

Kevin Hassett, Chair of the Council of Economic Advisers, shot down Obama’s claim, pointing out the economy took a positive turn after the 2016 election.
