Former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page said Wednesday that a reported surveillance warrant targeting him last summer was based on “false evidence.”

Page told Fox News he has nothing to hide, responding to a Washington Post story that the FBI obtained a secret order from a judge to monitor his communications as part of an investigation into Russia and contacts with the Trump campaign.

That order was based on a widely disputed document that made the rounds last year that contained allegations about the Trump team.

Page called it a “dodgy document” adding that it contained a “tremendous amount of false evidence.”

Page said Russians never tried to recruit him, and said he only worked for the Trump campaign on an informal basis.

He even said that he has never personally met with Trump.
