Officials at the liberal University of California, Berkeley rescheduled a speech by conservative author Ann Coulter after canceling an original April 27th event, saying they needed more time to find a “suitable venue.”
They made an offer on Thursday to have her speak, instead on May 2nd. But in a series of tweets, Coulter said she can’t make it that day and criticized the university, saying Berkeley officials were adding “burdensome” conditions to her speech.
She also pointed out that May 2 would be right before final exams, when there are no classes on campus and fewer students around. She said she is going to “call their bluff” and will speak on the original April 27th date.
Coulter and the college Republican group arranging her event said they’ve hired a lawyer and may sue.
