Data Show Counties in 11 States Have More Registered Voters than Eligible Adult Citizens

Judicial Watch announced Tuesday it has sent notice-of-violation letters threatening to sue 11 states that have counties that have more registered voters than they do eligible adult citizens.

Judicial Watch contends this is evidence that these counties are not taking reasonable steps to ensure that their voter registration records are accurate.

The 11 states are: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina and Tennessee. 

The states now have 90 days to address the problem and show they have made an effort to clean up their eligible voter lists.

Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said “Dirty election rolls can mean dirty elections,” and said lawsuits will be filed unless these 11 states clean up their voter rolls.
