The family of the Democratic National Committee staffer who was gunned down in July blasted reports that he was a source of thousands of emails leaked to WikiLeaks.
Fox News reports Rod Wheeler, a retired Washington homicide detective and Fox News contributor investigating the case, made the WikiLeaks claim about DNC staffer Seth Rich.
Wheeler said there’s evidence on a laptop to show that he was talking to WikiLeaks.
But a spokesman for Rich's family today said Wheeler was not authorized to speak for the family and called his assertions "unsubstantiated."
WikiLeaks leader Julian Assange has not identified Rich as the source of leaked DNC emails, but has offered a $20,000 reward for information leading to his killer.
