The house intelligence committee will hold its first session on Russia on March 20, looking into Russian meddling in the election as well as their meetings with members of President Trump’s team.
But a Kremlin spokesman alleged on Sunday that Hillary Clinton’s team members also met with the Russian ambassador during the election.
Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary for Vladimir Putin, dismissed the “hysteria” surrounding Trump’s links to Russia. He defended a meeting of their ambassador, with Trump’s national security adviser Michael Flynn, which cost Flynn his job.
Peskov, speaking on CNN Sunday said, “He was talking about bilateral relations so we have a better understanding.” He added, “This is what happens all around the world.”
Peskov also said that members of Clinton’s team had met with the ambassador as well, although he did not give specifics.
