Newsweek fires top editors, senior reporters

In a big upheaval at one of the nation’s largest publications, Newsweek has fired several of its top people after publishing reports about financial problems at the publication and an investigation by the Manhattan district attorney into Newsweek's parent company.
The Hill reports the Editor-in-chief, executive news director and two senior reporters were all fired on Monday and staffers were told to go home for the day.
Just last Thursday, Newsweek’s co-owner and CEO and his wife both resigned. Newsweek, which was founded in 1933, also was raided by the Manhattan D.A.'s office in January.
And last month, the magazine was forced to apologize after tweeting out an image of Martin Luther King Jr. in an open casket.
