President Trump is meeting with high praise on his first foreign tour.
He was greeted to a hero’s welcome first in Saudi Arabia, and then in Israel, where he became the first sitting U.S. president to visit the Western Wall.
Many outside of Washington believe his warm welcome is primarily due to his simply not being former President Obama.
The Washington Examiner reports there was no love lost between Obama and traditional U.S. allies in the Middle East. Most of that centered around Obama’s positions on Iran, Islamism, and Israel.
Trump even symbolically blazed a new trail between the Arab world and Israel Monday, being the first to fly directly from Saudi Arabia to the Jewish state.
Trump left Riyadh for Tel Aviv ahead of talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in hopes of seeking ways to achieve Israeli-Palestinian peace.
He will meet with the Pope at the Vatican tomorrow.
