White House senior adviser Stephen Miller got into a war of words with left-wing reporters during Wednesday’s press briefing.

Miller was at the briefing in support of the Raise Act, a Senate immigration reform bill. CNN reporter Jim Acosta seemed most offended that the new bill says immigrants should know English.

He asked Miller if that's the case "are we just going to bring in people from Great Britain and Australia?"

Miller pointed out that American citizens need to be able to speak English and added, “So the notion that speaking English wouldn’t be a part of immigration systems would be very ahistorical.”

What's more, Miller argued, there are plenty of people from countries other than Great Britain and Australia who have learned English and may be offended by Acosta's comment.

The White House adviser went on to tell Acosta that his “cosmopolitan bias” is being exposed to a “shocking degree.”

After the argument, Acosta later accused the White House of racism.
