Schumer in 2013 said Dems believe in 'up-or-down' votes, not 'obstruction'

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is leading a filibuster against Judge Neil Gorsuch's nomination to the Supreme Court arguing that recent high court nominees have all reached a 60-vote threshold, so Gorsuch should too.

The only problem is, Schumer is going against his own words.

The Washington Examiner reports at a 2013 press conference, Schumer said that Democrats prefer up-or-down votes "no matter who's in power."

But now, Schumer and other Democrats are doing everything they can to block Gorsuch's confirmation, insisting he overcome a 60-vote threshold.

Schumer’s comments Wednesday come even after the Washington Post fact checker earlier this year gave him "two Pinocchios" and called his language "slippery" and "misleading."
