The debate over stay-at-home orders continues across this country and many protesters have spoken out about those orders. In California, one recently encounter between protesters and a public official led to a politician being cited for assault.

According to ABC, Fresno City Council President Miguel Arias recently confronted protesters who had shown up at his home In a video of the incident, the protesters can be seen talking to Arias about business closures in the community. During the confrontation, Arias pushes several of the protesters at the top of a set of stairs.

As ABC reported, "Arias was cited for three counts of assault by Fresno Police. Investigators are still trying to determine if they tried to break into Arias' home, as he claims."

Although many states have loosened their guidelines, some California politicians have been hesitant to.

At this point, California residents are under a modified stay-at-home order where only some businesses are allowed to open.
