On this Sunday's episode of Meet the Press, moderator Chuck Todd led a discussion about the Justice Department's request to drop criminal charges against former Trump adviser Michael Flynn.

On the show, a misleading video was used to critique Attorney General's William Barr's decision in the case.

In the panel discussion, Meet the Press aired a clip that included Barr talking about the matter. When asked in a CBS interview about history's view of the Flynn decision, Barr noted that "History's written by the winners so it's largely dependent on who's writing the history." Meet the Press played that clip and Todd commented on it noting that "he [Barr] didn't make the case that he was upholding the rule of law."

However, Todd's analysis doesn't hold up to the facts. TheHill.com reported on the deceptive editing and the fact that Barr's complete answer included more context about the decision.

"I think a fair history would say it was a good decision because it upheld the rule of law," Barr said in his complete answer.

After being challenged on the facts, Meet the Press admitted the editing error in its Twitter account and noted that they "regret the error."

On Twitter, President Donald Trump called for Todd's termination over the mistake.
