There’s something raw and deep about stepping into the home of the Backwoods Bluegrass Band nestled in the woods as they perform their twangy rendition of ‘Just a Little Talk with Jesus.’ Hailing from the heart of southern Indiana, this band carries on the sacred Bluegrass beat with reverence, a little bit of fun, and a whole lot of joy. Their harmonies echo across the hollers and hills, resonating with the kind of faith that knows both the ache of sin and the triumph of redemption. 

The Backwoods Bluegrass Band is made up of Rusty Collier on the banjo, Austin Harper on the bass, Hunter Phillips on the mandolin, and Sarah Stewart on the fiddle. Their latest album ‘Southern Train’ was released in 2023 and is undoubtedly a big hit because each song carries the promise of God’s unchanging grace. 

The timeless hymn of ‘Just a Little Talk with Jesus; anchors their music with lines like, “And then a little light of heaven filled my soul’ reminding us of the beauty of God’s nearness. This song is for the weary, the wandering, and the worshipful–a call to return to the simplicity of faith and the power of prayer.

I love how this song reminds us we are never far from hope when life feels heavy. A little talk with Jesus? It makes everything right. Soul-Stirring ‘Trust and Obey’ Hymn Cover

Don’t miss this soul-stirring ‘Trust and Obey’ hymn cover by YouTube artist known as Folks And Hymns. Though we don’t know her name, she has over 18,000 subscribers online and obviously has a gift for worship music. 

There’s a sacred hush that falls over her living room as she sits in front of her dark fireplace when she starts to sing. Her guitar is cradled close, and she pours out the kind of music that feels like a prayer whispered straight from heaven. Her angelic voice carries the familiar hymn but it’s more than just the music you hear–it’s her heart for the Lord that moves you. 

‘Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share, 

But our toil He doth richly repay;

Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross, 

But is blessed if we trust and obey.’

You can see it in her eyes, hear it on every note, and she believes those words. They’re not just lyrics but lifelines. Each phrase wrapped in her quiet conviction becomes an invitation to trust a little deeper and obey a little more fully, and rest in the steadfast love of Jesus. It’s as if she carried the meaning of the song from its original writer, John H Sammis, who wrote the hymn in 1887. The hymn reveals how walking with God brings delight, peace, and joy. And how everything else in life, the big worries, the struggles, and loneliness, take a back seat when we focus our eyes on Him and trust and obey!

Let this movement of worship lift your heart. Let it remind you that there’s no burden too heavy, no sorrow too deep, and no path too dark for the One who calls us to trust and obey. And as you listen, may you mind your own heart stirred to lay it all at the feet of Jesus, knowing His ways are always good.

A tribute to my dad!

I recorded this video back in 2006, as a tribute to my Dad, five years after he passed away. I played everything myself on my Korg Triton Studio keyboard, except for the lead guitar, which I recorded externally on my Gibson Les Paul. It’s far from perfect, and I know there are plenty of mistakes, but I hope it brings someone a bit of inspiration or comfort today

Duo's Delightful 'I'm So Glad Jesus Lifted Me' Cover

One duo turned in a delightful cover of the beloved hymn “I’m so Glad Jesus Lifted Me.” The two women showed off their musical talents, including their beautiful voices, with a lovely rendition of the classic tune. Watch this clip to listen to and watch the dazzling duet performance.

Have you ever stopped to think about where you’d be without the love, forgiveness and grace of Jesus Christ? That’s a rather frightening thought. We would have continued down the broad path that leads to destruction and death.

But because God had enough love for you and me, we are no longer facing an eternity of separation and damnation. We have hope and a future because of Christ’s love and forgiveness, freely offered to all who call upon His name. Christ made a life-changing difference in our lives, and He can and will do the same for anyone who honestly and earnestly seeks Him and confesses their sins.

In a clip posted on YouTube, two women sing “I’m So Glad Jesus Lifted Me,” an old hymn and song well known and loved by many. The song, of course, is about the difference Christ has made and is making in our lives. The lyrics, which we can practically sing from memory at this point, remain as powerful and meaningful as when we first heard them.

The song’s lyrics could serve as the testimony of everyone who has been saved and forgiven of their sins. No longer are we living in their sin and shame. Because of His astounding and unending love, Christ has lifted and forgiven sinners, removing them from the path that leads to destruction and death.

High School Choir’s Stunning Rendition of ‘Because He Lives (Amen)’

A high school choir delivered a stunning rendition of “Because He Lives (Amen).” The gifted young people put their immense talents on full display while performing a tune about the Lord’s inexplicable and astounding love, faithfulness and forgiveness. Watch the video to listen to this choir’s powerful, moving performance.

Human beings have a knack, a skill, for dirtying and messing things up. Man’s disobedience in the Garden of Eden invited and unleashed sin into the world. Since that act, nothing has been the same. Sin has ruined, wrecked and destroyed everything it has encountered, including marriages, careers and entire lives.

But because God had pity and love for us, a bunch of sinners, He sent His Son to Earth, a willing sacrifice who suffered and died on the cross. That ultimate act of love paid a debt we could never fulfill, bridging the gap and divide that sin had caused between God and man. So, because of Him, we can be forgiven and look forward to an eternity with Him. Because He lives, we can face tomorrow.

In a clip posted on YouTube, a group of high school students, the High School Choir of Gospel Light Baptist Academy, sings about how, because of Christ, we have a future and hope. 

“Because He Lives (Amen)” is a song that perfectly captures and articulates the difference Christ makes in the life of every sinner who comes forward and professes the name of Jesus.

Not only do these young people beautifully belt out the song's lyrics, but several students play instruments in the video. There is simply a ton of musical talent and skill packed into this nearly five-minute video.

Worship Team’s Fantastic Cover of CeCe Winans’ ‘That’s My King’

A praise and worship team delivered a fantastic cover of CeCe Winans’ hit song “That’s My King.” This excellent rendition of the popular gospel tune, praising and worshipping the Lord, is one that you’ll want to listen to repeatedly. Check out the video to listen to and watch their dazzling and awe-inspiring performance.

Without Christ’s love, forgiveness and mercy, none of us would stand a chance. We’d all be facing an eternity lost and separated from Him. As the Bible states, we are all sinners who have fallen short of the glory of God.

But even in our sin and brokenness, Christ willingly went to the cross to endure an immense amount of pain and died on our behalf. He took our place, and in doing so, He bridged the gap, the rupture that sin had caused between God and man. He did and went through all of that wholly undeserving pain and punishment for no other reason than because of His immense, inexplicable love for us.

In a video on YouTube, the members of the First Baptist Clarksville in Clarksville, Tennessee, in a wonderfully energetic, powerful and uplifting performance, sing about Christ’s love, mercy and grace – none of which we deserve or could ever earn.

It’s a tune and a rendition bound to cause you to get emotional. The song’s lyrics, which are beautifully written, offer and give Him praise and worship.

I'm not sure anything will if that song doesn’t get you fired up and excited. Christ died, giving Himself up for you and me so that we could be forgiven and spend eternity with Him. He is worthy of all our praise and worship. He did what we could have never done for ourselves.

Choir’s Soul-Stirring ‘Satisfied (Hallelujah, I Have Found Him)’ Performance

Prepare to join in to worship with some wonderful music. A large group of a variety of ages are gathered at The Barn at Sycamore Farms to record this beautiful moment together. As we hear from a variety of vocalists and see a large choir around, it stirs our own hearts in worship. Check out this choir’s soul-stirring ‘Satisfied (Hallelujah, I Have Found Him),’ performance.

In the crowd, we get glimpses of some of Gospel Music’s finest. We see Jason Crabb, members of the Gaither Vocal Band, and Bill Gaither Himself directing them as the choir leader. After each soloist, we see joyful followers of Jesus declaring the salvation that they have found in Him. Through His blood they are saved and they proclaim. So many different men and women are joined together by the salvation of Christ. They sing in stunning harmonies together in unity. 

You will encounter the peace and blessing of this heartfelt music. Join in and sing, or just sit back and soak in the gorgeous melody. God tells us to sing to Him, He has created a variety of voices and we are all able to make a joyful noise to Him. He is worthy of our praises through song for all of HIs love and sacrifice for us.

No matter whether you are prone to love gospel style music or not, this performance brings encouragement to anyone. It is a much appreciated moment to be invited into this barn to sing praises to the King of kings. Scripture tells us that it is good to sing praises to Him. Every age, every nation, every person will bow down before Jesus one day, so may this video remind us to excitedly begin today.

The Detty Sisters’ Beautiful 'He’ll Do It Again’ Performance

At the start the eldest sister reminds us with a message that we serve the God who moves the mountains and pumps up the crowd that God works still today. The five sisters stand there and one sister leads the song with her young and beautiful voice. The sisters get to the chorus and share in stunning harmonies. These girls have a twangy and high pitched bluegrass style. They have a wonderful blend as sisters. 

The second verse begins, and the next sister sings with confidence and passion. The chorus excites the audience into worshiping, lifting their hands, and praising God for His ability to work again because he has always been faithful. As you listen to the message of this song, reflect on your own life and the ways that God has been faithful to you in the past. We can bring our requests and hopes for the future to Him, knowing that He will work again, even if it is in unexpected ways. He is glorious, and out of the mouths of these young women, His name is being honored and celebrated.

What is a mountain in your life? As you hear this song, do not forget that the Lord is still the same God who is able to do more than you can ask or imagine for His glory.

A crucial element of being a Christian is faith - following and listening to what cannot be seen. As anyone who has been a Christian for any significant amount knows, going on faith and trust is, at times, all we can do. There will be instances where the outcome and road ahead are unclear and murky.

These times of great uncertainty and pain are never fun. However, as He often does, He can and will use these instances to grow and strengthen our faith and trust in Him. Sometimes, life may take an unexpected detour and send us somewhere we never imagined. But even in these situations, He will never leave nor forsake us. Instead, He will always provide His loving guidance and direction.

In a clip posted on YouTube, The Isaacs sing the beloved song about encountering frightening circumstances in which the outcome and the road ahead is uncertain. Where are we to go from here? What do we do now? Even during that situation, He is still in control and on the throne.

Those beautifully written lyrics speak to situations and circumstances that may bring about fear and challenge our faith and trust. However, as those lines also mention, He has never failed us in the past, and there is no indication or reason to believe He will suddenly start now.

Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

Anne Wilson delivered a stunning live performance of her hit song “Praying Woman.” The popular and immensely talented Christian music singer’s powerful and moving rendition is one you do not want to miss. Check out the video to watch Anne’s spectacular performance.

Praying is, without a doubt, the most crucial thing any follower of Jesus Christ can do. Prayer is direct communication with God, the Creator of the universe. We do not need a mediator, a go-between or anything of that nature. We can take our worries, fears and requests to Him through prayer. How amazing is that?

Prayer is essential and necessary because it works; it’s powerful. In Matthew 21:22, Jesus says whatever we ask for in prayer will be ours if we simply have faith. So, understanding how powerful prayer is, having someone earnestly and constantly pray and reach out to God on our behalf is an invaluable gift—something that will impact your life in innumerable ways.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Anne Wilson performs her tune “Praying Woman.” However, before she gets to singing, she explains some of the background of the song she originally sang and recorded with Lainey Wilson, whom she describes as a “big sister.”

“We got to work on this song together,” Anne said. “We were sitting down; this was our first time writing together, and we were talking about how we were raised in a Christian home. We were raised to love God and country. And we kind of had this, this thing in common about our moms, and just the incredible moms they’ve been in our lives. And we’re so grateful for how they’ve always gotten on their knees and prayed for the things that they wanted to see in life and prayed for their spouses and their children.”

Later in the clip, Anne revealed that her mother was in the audience. She dedicated the performance to her mother and all the mothers in the audience who do so much for their families.

At the end of her powerful and moving acoustic performance, the audience responds with a hearty round of applause.
