While racist, anti-Muslim, and anti-Semitic attacks in France have seen a huge fall since 2008, those at Christian places of worship more than doubled in this period of time, according to France’s interior ministry.
A report out last week credited the large amount of money the French government spent on a campaign to reduce Islamophobia, racism, and anti-Semitism for a decline of nearly 60 percent in 2016 in attacks of those groups.
However, Le Figaro reported that acts targeting Christian places of worship are now up 90 percent.
The newspaper said cases in which Christian places of worship were defiled saw a huge rise between 2008 and 2016.
France has seen more crime overall since letting in thousands of Syrian refuges.
