The number of companies offering employees higher wages, expanded insurance and retirement benefits and cash bonuses up to $3,000 has surged to 300 as more see benefits from the new GOP tax cuts.

But, many Democrats are trying to downplay the boon to some 3 million American workers.

On Thursday, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi once again called the bonuses "crumbs."

But now one major employer, Costco, is disputing Democratic sneers that the bonuses are “crumbs” that hide bigger profits.

Costco chief Craig Jelinek said the attack by Pelosi was not “thoughtful” adding that critics were just “throwing stuff out there.”

The Costco executive also noted that the tax cuts may benefit customers as well as employees.
