Germany continues to contend with problems since allowing a mass influx of refugees into the country.
Fox News reports the German government is now preparing legislation to outlaw child marriage, an accepted practice among the country’s more than 1 million Muslim refugees.
The legislation reflects the frustration of some Germans who see their core beliefs coming under siege.
There are 1,450 known Muslim couples in Germany in which at least one spouse, usually female, is underage, though the actual number may be higher.
In 361 marriages, at least one partner is under 14.
The proposed legislation would deny legal status to any marriage in which a partner is under the age of 16.
