Over 100 people in Arlington, Texas, held a vigil Thursday evening to honor a manager at a popular sports bar who was shot and killed Wednesday.

They were also gathered to honor a man with a licensed concealed handgun who’s responsible for stopping the assailant. Lt. Christopher Cook said it all began when James Jones walked into the bar, yelling incoherently.

When manager Cesar Perez tried to calm him down, Jones shot him. That’s when an unnamed customer pulled out his handgun and shot and killed Jones.

Police have confirmed the customer had a concealed carry license and charges won’t be filed against him.

Staff and customers at the bar said they were thankful, adding that “he saved a lot of lives.”

Police later confirmed that Jones was in possession of two firearms and two knives.
