White House officials are drawing attention to a Bill Clinton speech and the Clintons’ ties to Russia following criticism over that meeting Donald Trump Jr. had with a Russian lawyer.

Fox News reports at the same time Hillary Clinton was arguing against Russian sanctions for human rights violations, Bill was giving a $500,000 speech in Moscow to a company allegedly designated as one of those human rights abusers.

Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said at a briefing last week, “If you want to talk about having relationships with Russia, I'd look no further than the Clintons.”

She argued Bill Clinton was “paid half a million dollars to give a speech to a Russian bank, (and then) personally thanked by President Putin.”
