Little Caitlin Miller and several of her classmates were playing make-believe last week on the playground at McLauchlin Elementary School in North Carolina.

In an effort to “protect” her friend pretending to be a princess, Caitlin armed herself with a stick that resembled a gun.

Fox News reports the 5-year-old was promptly snatched up by a teacher, sent to the principal’s office, and suspended for “turning a stick into a gun and threatening to shoot and kill other students.”

While it would be impressive for a 5-year-old to miraculously turn a stick into an actual weapon, that isn’t what happened.

It was just a stick.

Several school ratings sites give the school low scores for academics and quality of teachers.

Looks like little Caitlin could teach them a thing or two about make-believe.
