As statues and monuments of George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Robert E. Lee are being destroyed or removed across the country, the Washington, D.C. city council is set to approve a new statue honoring...Marion Barry.
The American Thinker reports the council is expected to vote unanimously in favor of installing the statue of Barry saying “It's the right thing to do.”
Barry, if you’ll remember, was caught on video and arrested in a sting operation in 1990 for smoking crack cocaine with a woman not his wife.
He was also accused of cheating on his taxes and known for saying derogatory statements about Asian Americans and Polish people.
D.C. also became overrun with crime during his four-term tenure as mayor.
Barry died in 2014.
