Mattis: NBC Report Is False, Erroneous, Irresponsible

Defense Secretary James Mattis on Wednesday shot down yet another NBC News report - this one alleging that President Trump wanted to increase the U.S. nuclear arsenal "tenfold" after a meeting with defense officials in July.
Military.com reported that Mattis said in a statement that those reports are absolutely false, adding "This kind of erroneous reporting is irresponsible.”
Mattis had also called an earlier story claiming that he had called Trump a moron, “petty nonsense.”
According to Military.com, Mattis does not often comment on the president's statements, but found it necessary to put out his own statement on the issue.
