German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who welcomed in an unlimited number of migrants to her country in 2015, is now trying to pay them to leave.
Breitbart reports Merkel is setting aside €90m in taxpayers’ money to create a fund which will pay migrants to withdraw their asylum applications and leave Germany voluntarily.
The payments are part of a plan to speed up the removal of rejected asylum seekers, like the Tunisian man who hijacked a truck and drove it into a Christmas market in Berlin while awaiting deportation.
President Trump said Merkel made a “catastrophic mistake” when she opened the doors to migrants.
Her vice-chancellor, Sigmar Gabriel, later admitted that Germany had been plunged into a kulturkampf, or “cultural war”, as a result.
