Mo. State Senator: ‘I Hope Trump Is Assassinated’

A Democratic state senator in Missouri is facing resignation calls from those on both sides of the aisle after posting on Facebook Thursday that she hopes President Trump is assassinated.
CBS News reports after the weekend violence in Charlottesville, Virginia, Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal wrote, “I hope Trump is assassinated!”
She eventually deleted the post, but a screenshot was saved and shared on Twitter.
In later interviews, Chapelle-Nadal said she regretted her post but not her anger at the president and refused to apologize.
Top Missouri Democrats – including Sen. Claire McCaskill and the chairman of the Missouri Democratic Party – are calling for her to resign.
The Secret Service said it is investigating Chapelle-Nadal’s post.
