North Korea defector: Kim Jong-un ready to use the nuclear option — literally

North Korea is expected to be one of the big topics when President Trump meets with Chinese President Xi Jinping this week. 

Trump said he and Xi will speak about a lot of things, including North Korea, which Trump called a "humanity problem."  

As Trump threatens to “handle the situation” in North Korea, Hot Air reports Thae Yong Ho, a former deputy ambassador to the UK, warns that the US and its allies had better prepare themselves for a nuclear exchange on the Korean peninsula.

Thae, a North Korean defector, tells NBC News the only real solution is regime change.

According to Thae, North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un is “desperate in maintaining his rule by relying on his [development of] nuclear weapons and ICBM.” He says once Un sees “an imminent threat from America he would use his nuclear weapons" and long-range missiles.
