A New York Times columnist who was blasted for months by what he called “bullying Trump supporters” says he’s now being targeted by the “nasty left” — after he wrote a piece Friday calling for people to hear both sides of the climate change argument.

Former Wall Street Journal writer Bret Stephens pointed out that it’s absurd to blindly support climate change, and urged folks to look at claims from both supporters and deniers, and get all the facts.

That was enough to set off a left-wing crusade on social media to take him down.

One politics writer at Vice even called his words “violently hateful and should not be given a platform.”

A petition was even created on Change.org asking the Times to fire Stephens.
