The White House is currently reviewing as many as 98 last minute so-called “midnight regulations” that President Obama is set to push through to secure his legacy and limit President Trump's regime.

'Midnight regulations' are a last chance for a president to make his mark and introduce new laws.

The Daily Mail reports some being considered include limiting air pollution from the oil industry and measures aiming to help highly skilled immigrant workers obtain green cards.

Seventeen of them would have an estimated economic impact of at least $100 million a year.

Obama can pass the rules because of a loophole in US law allowing him to put through last-minute regulations that have the same force as law.
