In a new opinion piece in the Washington Post, Vice President Mike Pence called out the Obama administration's inaction on Iran protests years ago while also praising President Trump's decision to side with government protesters.

Pence referenced the "Green Revolution" that saw Iranian citizens protesting their government in 2009 and how they compare to the current protests that have resulted in more than 20 deaths.

Pence called Obama’s inaction in 2009, “An abdication of American leadership.”

He argued Obama's decision not to speak up may have been an effort to push through the Iran nuclear deal.

Pence tweeted Monday the Trump administration will not make the same mistake as Obama did.
