960 The Patriot’s own Dennis Prager turned out to be a rousing success as guest conductor for the Santa Monica Symphony Wednesday night.

A controversy arose after Prager was invited by the symphony’s music director Guido Lamell, to conduct part of the concert as part of a summer fundraiser.

Several members of the orchestra boycotted the performance and sent a letter saying that a concert featuring the conservative Prager would help "normalize hatred" and damage the orchestra's trust within the community.

Not so much, as Prager was greeted to a sold-out crowd at Walt Disney Concert Hall.

Lamell said "This is one of the most exciting evenings of my life," to the enthusiastic crowd that had traveled from all over to see Prager conduct.
