Stanford Accepts Student Who Just Wrote ‘#BlackLivesMatter’ on Application Question

Forget grades, test scores, or writing samples. Apparently, the way to get accepted into Stanford is to voice support for liberal causes.

National Review reports a high school student from New Jersey was recently accepted into the school after answering the application question, “What matters to you, and why?” by simply writing “#BlackLivesMatter” 100 times, with no explanation.

The Muslim student, Ziad Ahmed, said in an interview that he should not have to explain his answer because it would be “inherently dehumanizing,” calling it “unapologetic activism.”

While it’s not clear if Ahmed was accepted because of his answer or in spite of it, Ahmed himself said he is particularly proud of his non-answer answer.

Stanford has refused to comment.
