A convicted rapist who was serving a life sentence at a men’s prison in the UK, has now been transferred over to a women’s prison after so-called “gender reassignment” surgery. So a convicted serial rapist is now in a prison filled with women.
The BBC reports one of Martin Ponting's victims has described the fact her attacker was allowed a sex change as "diabolical".
A group called Voice4Victims said the fact that a convicted rapist is allowed a taxpayer funded sex change while victims struggle to access treatment support, "highlights the great imbalance of equality within our justice system."
Before the surgery, Ponting, who now goes by the name Jessica Winfield, complained of being “victimized” in the men’s prison for being a transsexual.
