Students at the University of Michigan are demanding the school remove wood paneling on the walls of academic buildings on campus.

Not because they think it looks outdated, but instead are claiming the “masculine” wood paneling is “intimidating.”

Breitbart reports a student activist stated at a recent student government meeting that “minority students felt marginalized by quiet, imposing masculine paneling” in buildings around campus.

They specifically don’t like the look of the historic Michigan Union building that is a landmark of the university.

School administration says that the building is actually set to undergo an $85 million renovation, but the wood paneling is here to stay.

That upset some minority students who insist its presence is “intimidating.”
