Court Rules in Favor of Christian Group Stripped of Status Over LGBT Demands

A Christian group has prevailed in court and will be reinstated as a campus organization after being stripped of club status for disqualifying an active homosexual from running for its leadership position.

The University of Iowa had banned the campus Christian group Business Leaders in Christ (BLinC), after a gay activist applied for a leadership spot, but refused to agree to their Statement of Faith.

He claimed he was rejected because he is gay.

U.S. District Court Judge Stephanie Rose granted a temporary injunction, saying that the school is not consistently enforcing its own anti-discrimination policy.

She noted as an example a campus Muslim group which excludes all but Muslims.

After the decision, BLinC was allowed in the student union to recruit on Wednesday.
