House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said today she’s “very proud” that her fellow Democratic members sat through President Trump’s speech to Congress Tuesday night with what she called “dignity.”
Speaking on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Pelosi called it a “bait and switch speech,” accusing Trump of making an assault on public education, immigration, and the deficit.
Still she praised Democrats “because of all the dignity we wanted to bring to the address.”
But, Democrats actually hissed and fake coughed several times throughout the speech.
Pelosi, Keith Ellison, and Debbie Wasserman Schultz also stayed seated and refused to clap for the widow of Navy Seal "Ryan" Owens, who died in Yemen.
