Fifteen-thousand public school children were kept out of their classrooms in Virginia alone on Wednesday because a group of teachers decided they’d rather protest than do their jobs.

Three hundred staff members were asked to skip work and observe “A Day Without a Woman.”

Politico reports the nationwide one-day strike event was planned by the same people who staged the Women’s March on Washington.

But, adding further insult to the families inconvenienced by the demonstration, it appeared on Wednesday that most of the strikers were unable to state exactly what it was they were striking against.

Politico concludes that all their meaningless demonstration did is “hand the Republican Party a wide-open opportunity to dismiss it as a hysterical hissy fit, staged by left-wing activists still mourning Hillary Clinton’s loss.”
